  1. This is a real, real bad stretch of hockey. This is gonna ruin us.
  2. We might not make the playoffs at this rate.
  3. Matthews gets cracked in the face with a stick, no call. Brown takes a tripping penalty 5 seconds later.
  4. 2 goals called back on us this year, one penalty for challenging a non-offside. 0 for 3.
  5. You don't control shooting 3 percent, though. That's just bad luck when all of his shot and chance generation numbers are the same or better. I'm not sure how to better explain this to you.
  6. Marincin is a perfectly servicable NHL defenceman... until he touches the puck. That's why he doesn't play at the top level consistently. His puck control is like me the first time I held some titties.
  7. I think it's something people are focusing on though because "narrative". He's not doing anything that every player in the NHL isn't doing, but a spotlight is on him right now because of the contract and lack of "production". I think so much of what he does is so effortless that he looks like he's just going through the motions a lot of the time. Similar to how people viewed Fedorov a lot of the time. He's fine, and it'll come. People just need to let him work through it.
  8. But here's the thing about that: I don't think Nylander hasn't been working hard. Once he puts in four or five the narrative is gonna be that putting him on the 4th line rejuvenated his game, when the reality is that his shot metrics are just coming back to the mean. You can't shoot 3 percent forever.
  9. Nylander is shooting less than 3 percent and his transition numbers are still some of the best on the Leafs. He'll be fine once his shooting percent jumps back up to where it should be. People need to relax. Matthews has 1 goal in his last 11 games. Should he be benched?
